Relay For Life is a fundraiser for cancer research. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
This is something very important to all the members of
Southland, as each of us knows someone who has been affected by cancer. Because of this, we chose to take time to volunteer to perform for the walkers/runners trying to raise money.

The grandstands are empty behind us, because everyone was either on the football field or on the track.

The Jones Family have become fast fans of
Southland, as well as great friends. I am sure this will not be the last time you see their faces on our blog.
